Review of Chariots of Fire

After my performance of Beyond the Chariots yesterday at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Joyce and I had lunch with a gal who is working on her PhD from Cambridge. She did her undergrad work at Regent in Vancouver, BC, so we talked about Ron Reed, who is the artistic director of Pacific Theatre there. He happened to host the CITA conference that convinced me to move to NYC. Imagine my surprise to read his blog that night and discover that he'd just blogged on Chariots of Fire, the inspiration of the play I'd just performed. Reed says quite a bit about how the film speaks to us as believing artists. I really encourage you to give it a read: Soul Food Movies.

Don't get discouraged

I'm en route to France (RichDrama.com/NewsBlog) and just read a great article on award winning playwright and screenwriter Horton Foote. He said, "Here's the most important thing: Don't get discouraged. Believe in yourself, and make your own luck." I'll add my favorite verse to the list: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5&6)

Re: Harvey here: What a wonderful production!

Hello Everyone:

OOHH, yes, Harvey...How I did miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis you! And how grateful for those prayers...they were surely felt by all.  It was truly a time of challenge and spiritual growth for all...a time to test and sharpen our skills and to trust HIM for every step.  As always, He orchestrated each detail for His glory and I do not think any one of us left MWF the same as when we came.  I know this is just the beginning for many to explore all He has in store if we will walk submitted and alert to His call.
The love, trust and mutual respect the Lord developed in our hearts kept us watchful and prayful as this was His work and it was clear we could not move forward apart from Him.

Thanks to all of you, chicadees, for letting the Lord have His way and use you for His glory and show you what He can do through the unique, special vessel you each are!! I miss you all, terribly!
Susie...thank you...your heart is showing...and it's "good...good...good!" Hope to see you when you're in NY...Will you be around for Splinter?
Rich & Joyce...blessings to all the work you put your hands to...you are daily in my prayers!!!
Love and miss you all so...just wish we could start over and just...do it again!!!

In His precious Love,
Patricia

Harvey here: What a wonderful production!

Hello Everyone:

I know you haven't heard much of me except what Rich might have
shared but please know you and your work this summer has been in my
mind and prayers. Rich and I had the opportunity to share earlier in
the summer as I wished him God speed on the community and the work
ahead in MasterWorks. Rich sent me an excellent report and God most
assuredly meet you and blessed you in the production of "The
Crucible"! I so wished I could have been with you to share a little
in the blessing.

Please know God has been doing amazing things in my life and have
kept me very busy. So I pray God's best in this new year. I hope He
will give us the opportunity to share again. Continue to ask for His
Best in your lives and artistry. Be assured I am asking just that in
your behalf.

Always and forever,
Harvey

from Susie

Thank you, Harvey!

How I missed you! It was a tremendous time at MWF! Here are a few
photos for all. I have a slide show that I will get to you somehow!

Love and prayers,
Susie
